The exchange, explained
How Beta2Prod works.
Test another maker's app, send useful feedback, and earn credits for testing your own. One account lets you do both.
For your own app
Start with one covered test.
Listing an app is free. Your first eligible app approval can unlock a voucher for one basic tester.
- 1
Submit your app
Sign in and add a real app to the directory. Your wallet starts at zero. A moderator reviews the listing before it becomes public.
- 2
Receive your one-time voucher
The launch pool has 100 vouchers, limited to one per developer account and app. A voucher is tied to its approved app. When the allocation is exhausted, you can still earn credits by testing other apps.
- 3
Launch a basic campaign
Write your brief and choose one basic tester for a 14-day campaign. The voucher applies automatically at launch. It covers the 100-credit initial test reward. Extra testers and follow-up bonuses use earned credits.
Your voucher is consumed when an initial test report is approved and paid. It is never added to your spendable wallet balance.
Earn by helping another maker
What earns credits. What a test costs.
Join a funded test before installing. Follow its private enrollment instructions, test the app, and send your first report within 24 hours. The developer reviews it before releasing the reward.
| Testing work | After approval | When available |
|---|---|---|
| Initial test report | 100credits | From joining. Submit within 24 hours. |
| Week-one follow-upOptional bonus test | 20credits | After 7 complete days, if included. |
| Final follow-upOptional bonus test | 30credits | After 14 complete days, if included. |
One approved initial test funds one basic tester.
A basic spot costs 100 credits. Including both follow-up tests costs 150 credits per tester. Owners set aside the full reward budget when launching.
For 12 basic testers, reserve 1,200 credits. An available starter voucher covers 100, leaving 1,100 from your wallet. With both bonuses for all 12 testers, the total is 1,800, or 1,700 from your wallet with the voucher.
Rewards follow approved testing work.
- Installing, joining a store test, and recording check-ins earn no credits on their own.
- Store ratings and public reviews are never required for rewards.
- Credits cannot be bought, sold, gifted, or cashed out. Use them to fund testing inside the exchange.
The 1,800-credit earning limit
You cannot join another test if its reward would push your available credits, refundable campaign funding, and promised unpaid rewards above 1,800 credits. The voucher's subsidy is excluded. Spending earned credits on approved tests opens earning capacity again. Rewards for tests you have already joined are always honored.
Your assignment timeline
Fourteen days, with room to finish.
Every tester gets their own 14-day participation period starting when they join a campaign. A campaign's join-by date stops new testers from joining; it does not shorten your participation.
START
Join a funded test
Your participation period starts. Open the private enrollment instructions before installing.
WITHIN 24H
Send your first report
Install, try the brief, and submit your initial feedback. An untouched reservation expires after 24 hours.
AFTER 7 DAYS
Week-one follow-up
If the campaign includes it, another test opens. Approved feedback earns 20 bonus credits.
AFTER 14 DAYS
Final follow-up
If included, the final test opens after fourteen complete days. Approval earns 30 bonus credits.
WITHIN 16 DAYS
Finish your submissions
The two extra days give you time for final feedback and revisions. Use the deadline in your assignment.
Submitting on time keeps your reward reserved while it is reviewed. Approval may happen later. Older campaigns can have different task packages and deadlines; follow the brief in your assignment.
A short note each day
Check in with what you tried.
Record an activity note in your assignment, such as a workflow you revisited or a problem you ran into. The owner can read your activity history throughout the campaign.
You can save one check-in per participation day. Each day is a 24-hour window from the time you join, rather than a midnight reset. Missed days cannot be filled in afterward.
Check-in example
"I reopened yesterday's trail note offline. The text was saved, but its photo took two tries to load."
A check-in records participation. It does not replace the initial test report, extend a deadline, or earn a reward by itself.
Reminders help you return for check-ins and available follow-up tests. Check your assignment for the current submission deadline.
Before you start
A few practical questions.
Do I need to test other apps before listing mine?
No. You can submit a directory listing for free. If your first eligible app approval receives a starter voucher, it can fund one basic tester. Without a voucher, or for additional testers, earn credits by helping other makers. You can also start testing without listing an app of your own.
Does signing up give me 100 wallet credits?
Your wallet starts at zero. A starter voucher is a separate, one-time benefit issued after an eligible app approval while the launch allocation lasts. It funds a tester's reward for that app and cannot be spent as wallet credit. Check your dashboard for voucher availability.
What should my initial report include?
Confirm that you installed and tried the app. Include its version, the workflow you tested, what you expected, and what actually happened. Add reproduction steps if you found a problem. An installation-only message does not earn credits. For email-list campaigns, the owner must add your Google Play email before you can opt in.
Can useful feedback earn credits if I find no bugs?
Yes. Explain what you tested and how it behaved, even when everything worked. The developer reviews the usefulness of your report. Finding a bug is not a condition for payment.
What happens if I miss the first 24 hours?
If you have not submitted your initial report, the unused reservation expires and its spot can reopen. A check-in does not extend that deadline. Feedback submitted on time keeps its reward reserved through review, even if the developer reviews it later.
What if the developer asks for a revision?
Read the review notes in your assignment, update the report, and resubmit before its feedback deadline. A revision does not earn a second reward. Once the developer approves the report, its credits go into your available balance.
What happens to unused campaign funding?
The owner can close a campaign after active assignments and pending reviews are settled. Unused earned credits return to the owner's wallet. Unused voucher funding returns to the launch pool and restores the same voucher to its original developer. It does not create another voucher or reopen the public launch allocation. A voucher that already paid an approved initial report stays used.
Do check-ins verify installation or Google Play enrollment?
Check-ins are activity notes reported by the tester. The campaign owner can read them, but they do not verify device installation, uninstall events, or Google Play opt-in. Manage your store test separately from your Beta2Prod assignment.
